Introduction.
The purpose of using Digital Analytics:
Digital Analytics helps the firms(Individuals or Companies) to provide a better online experience to their clients or the customers, that results to achieve the desired goals. Digital analytics(Google analytics) is a tool used by the organizations to collect, measure and analyze the qualitative and quantitative data.
How Google Analytics Works:
Google Analytics works by the inclusion of a block of Javascript code on pages in the website or blogs.
The tracking operation retrieves data about the page request from various means such as through email marketing or social media referrals or search engine results etc., and sends this information to the Analytics server via a list of parameters attached to a single pixel image request.
Steps to add tracking code to the website or blog(If the account setup is already done):
Step1:
Click on the admin in the down left corner of the Analytics home page.
Step2:
On clicking on the admit page, we will be redirected to below page. In the properties tab click on tracking info. A drop-down of menu under tracking info appears. Click on tracking code in that menu.
Step3(Final step):
On clicking on the tracking code, we will be redirected to below page. Copy the JavaScript code given in the page and paste it in the next line of <HEAD> tag of the website or blog script.
In case if the account setup isn't already done, here are the steps to setup an account:
- Create or sign in to the google analytics account through google.com/analytics
- Setup a property in the analytics account
- Setup a reporting view in the property.
- Finally don't forget to link analytics with the website or blog. The steps that are discussed previously.
Setting up Views with filters:
- After Signing in the analytics, Select the Admin tab and navigate to the view in which we want to create a filter.
- In the view column click on the filters.
- Click assign Filter order, select the filter we want to move,then click move up or move down and click save.
- If we want to remove the view click on the remove.
